Geoff Isles

American artist and collector Geoff Isles (1960– ) studied glass at the Penland School of Craft from 1983 to 1984, after earning a BA in political science from Tulane University in 1983. Isles then returned to his native New York City and began working as a glass sculptor. He became involved with the New York Experimental Glass Workshop (later UrbanGlass), where he taught (1985–1999) and served on the board of directors (1986–2013). Isles was deeply involved in the workshop’s move from Manhattan to Brooklyn in the early 1990s. Isles also taught product design and glass at Parsons School of Design (1991–99) and has been a board member of the Glass Art Society and the Museum of Glass in Tacoma, Washington.
