The nine pieces of Richard Tuttle’s Depth (2019) occupy the niche opposite his Restorer’s Bench (2022) and both welcome and bid farewell to those visiting the gallery exhibition. As an explicit place for restoration, Depth signals a relationship to the “Open.” That free place is a deep place or, rather, one that allows us to go as deep as we wish.
