-to Bard 3/7/22 – iron, steel + brass
-made in Lititz, PA prob. Victor x Trap Co.
-hand made, forged
-Oneida Trap #14 became Victor famous mouse trap
-with tag attached with copper wire
-oiled to prevent rust
Higgins ME bent from use

Side 2
-design into art, semi-mass produced
-skill with metal, elegant and uncomfortable
-experience in manufacture + design
-I like the slightly oiled surface – it seems like an object, a collectible, humorously another kind of trap, yet I can take it to free space
-full of masculine pride and independence man as hunter and hunted—song of the wild, cheerful

-my younger brother, Gregory, worked for this company, which produced thousands of mouse traps, still partly handmade. Animal rights advocates and tech put pressure on Victor—There is actually a better mouse trap—cleaner, more efficient, etc—made with plastic
